The Tai Chi and Dance section is in standing and the Yoga, Pilates and Relaxation is on a mat.

A chi ball is used but a toilet roll or small pilates/yoga ball is ok to use.

 This Friday's Fresh Air Walx takes us on a slightly different route of approximately 3 miles from Sandridge Village car park to Jersey Farm Nature Reserve across open farmland back to St Brelades Place where we will be stopping to have a quick breakfast with St Albans Community Pantry before returning to the village car park.

Friday Cafe Nordic Walx - this is up to 2 hours and 5 miles often followed by a coffee at a local cafe or bring your own flask for an after walk coffee and chat. 

Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hill walking or trail running as the poles are not planted in front of the walker/runner but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing.

This three session course aims to teach the technique of walking with poles.  

Nordic Walking is a total body workout, strengthening both lower and upper body muscles. It provides you with a walk that is less stressful on the joints, it enables you to walk faster, and increases all round fitness levels.  The course is aimed at those who have not walked with nordic poles before, or haven't walked with poles for a long time and would like to refresh their skills.
