Janneke's Monday morning adventure walk
Come and enjoy this early morning walk to get an active start at the beginning of your week. Join us from Froghall Wharf for an adventure walk where easy paths along the canal are combined with steep up/down hill paths. This walk is 90 minutes.
Using gears 1 and 2, working through the gears for progression and endurance. Walking 3 - 4 miles
Don't forget to wear suitable clothing for all weathers
Hetty's is open for drinks and snacks.

Total Body WALX sessions provide the opportunity to feel for yourself just how powerful walking based exercise can be when it is at the right level for you. Many members prefer to walk with poles as they find it is more effective than walking without. When poles are used, you are able to engage the upper body, core muscles, improve posture and burn more calories

This is a delightful and gentle scenic walk through Thorncombe Woods.
Suitable for all abilites with or without poles.
There is a wealth of wildlife – including resident Dartmoor ponies- and a varied range of mature trees and open scrubland from which, high up, there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside with the Purbeck Hill’s in the distance. A walk not to be missed!
We will meet in car park, there is a charge of £1 per hour, to use the car park.
Throughout the walk we will be observing the social distancing as best as possible at all times.

This is a Gear 2 walk of less than 4 miles. There are a couple of different options according to the ground conditions. Although a shortish walk, there are some steep ramps to improve your cardio fitness. The walk varies between grass on lovely old turf and hard tracks. This walk compliments the other weekly Gear 2 walks, which are longer but have gentler inclines, both designed to help you improve your personal fitness.
Gear 2 - A faster pace gained through technique. There will be less recovery time.

This is a friendly and popular Nordic walking Group for those who have completed a Power of Poles induction course. We explore the forest trails in Delamere Forest and coverig 4-5km (2.5 - 3 miles) in the hour.
Car parking Fees apply in Forest Centre, Tree tops carpark, Old Pale, Whitefield carpark or become a member of Delamere Forest for an anual fee of £72.00

Duration – 1 ½ hours, walk grade - 3. Lynda has agred to lead this walk. Not everyone walks at the same pace! The Regular Walk is a social way to get fit and stay fit. It`s aimed at moderate paced walkers and above. After a warm up we will set off together and those that wish to walk fast can go ahead and at certain points we will gather together. This is achieved by those walking ahead will, at certain points or times, double back to the rear of the group or remaining at a pre-determined rendezvous point and practicing drills or other gentle exercises to keep warm and active.

Get ready for the weekend with a stimulating Saturday morning walx around Stanmore Country Park. Or join us on a Sunday morning for a longer, faster paced walk in Ruislip Woods.

If you don’t mind starting with a short road walk, this is a super circuit of just over an hour – good for those returning to walking after a break as there are some hilly sections but nothing too heavy. Combines a great range of terrains.
Start from the main car park on the southern edge of Compton, walk through the village and ten minutes beyond along a relatively quiet stretch of road.
Then a well-trodden footpath crosses a field and climbs a grassy dell with downland views if you look behind.
After an area of mixed woodland, cross a gently sloping hilltop and descend through even finer vistas, ending with a cross-field stroll back into Compton.
Suggest car sharing Compton is a 25 minute drive from Chichester. Slightly muddy in a few places if there has been rain and clay in the last section can get a little slippery. Hazards include tree roots and an uneven surface. Excellent coffee is available at Compton’s tea shop/ village stores.

A moderately paced Nordic Walk for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, the WALX Guide will lead you through a warm up, follow the aerobic curve during the walk to enable you to improve your fitness levels, finish with a cool down and a stretch.
To book this walk you must complete the Power of Poles training, Wellness WALX are available throughout the week, these do not require the training if you want to come along and have a try.
