WALX of Wellbeing are free walks led by qualified volunteer walk leaders, previously known as Walking for Health Walks these are a great way to get outdoors, enjoy the green spaces and make new friends.

Description of the Walk: From the car park the WALX Guide will take you through the beautiful ever-changing woodland. The walk can be muddy when wet and in the winter months, please be prepared with good footwear for this walk. Approximately 1.5-2 miles.

These 2 walks warm up together and then take different routes according to your ability.

Referral WALX

A comfortably paced walk in the Gardens for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere. The qualified Exercise Referral Instructor will lead you through a warm up, a short walk making stops along the way if needed and finish with a stretch. Exercise bands are often used within the walk to rest the legs, improve strength in the upper body and work on posture.

We join all Wednesday walkers after the walk for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.

Total Body WALX

A gentle paced walk for 45 minutes with a WALX Guide around the lake, joining all Wednesday walkers for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.

You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.  

Power of Poles training is available in Bexley.      

Poles are provided.

Join Tony for a 6 mile walk up the canal probably to the new bridge on Edith Rigby Bridge and return taking in Haslam park on the way back.

This will be a faster paced walk than is usual pushing you slightly out of your comfort zone. A total body walk but if you have the more traditional poles you are still very much welcome because it all applies.

Come and join our WALX classes. To get the most from using poles in our WALX sessions, the Power of Poles is an excellent starting point.

We are excited to welcome newcomers to the use of poles to exercise the whole body while walking. Using poles will engage your core, improve posture and  take the weight off lower body joints. It enables you to exercise outdoors  which is great for your mental health as well.

The POWER of POLES Induction is totally unique in that it explores the use of both strapless and Nordic walking poles to aid the user gain the best technique and results! Taught over 2 sessions of 1.5 hours duration, the second being optional, the session starts with the strapless moulded handle fitness walking poles devised by WALX and FIZAN

This enables you to feel  greater core engagement and master the  elements that provide propulsion,   increased exercise benefits and make you feel lighter on our feet. Once you have mastered these essential basics you get to explore the traditional Nordic walking straps and movements.  The second session of the Power of Poles is optional and  will be listed separately  at a convenient date for you.

Join our Wellbeing WALX, a fun, gentle and safe way to walk yourself fitter that can incorporate balance work, flexibility and strength exercises as we explore the beautiful common. Suitable for all levels

 

We walk with poles or without, please feel free to use your own poles if you have any

 

Great for those who are getting back into exercise, have a health condition or simply want to move well and be fit for life!

We meet at the far end of the Horseshoe Clump car park

There are no parking fees or facilities

A GENTLE - MODERATE PACED WALK FOR 2.5 - 3 MILES (you choose!) AT GORGEOUS BLICKLING. LET`S TAKE OUR TIME, ENJOY THE VIEWS AND END IN THE CAFE....

Stunning scenery, historical connections, gorgeous architecture, well manicured gardens, a sense of timelessness… and wide shady paths all across the estate to enjoy mood-boosting  Nordic Walking. 

Plus a well deserved coffee at the end in the Muddy Boots Cafe - what could be better?

This is a 3 mile moderate walk on footpaths through fields and woodland through Blickling Hall Estate.
