This is a 4.5 - 5 mile moderate walk (average steady pace 3.4mph) suitable for all Gear 2-3 abilities as there are opportunities for those who want a challenge to get up to Gear 3 and add in extra distance if they choose! It is a 75 - 90 minute walk on footpaths through fields and woodland through Blickling Hall Estate... ANY BEYOND!!

For those of you who have completed the Learn to Nordic walk course - depending on individual abilities enjoy sociable gentle Nordic Walking in stunning locations with a mixed ability group.
Your qualified instructor will add motivating drills and exercises into a steady/fast paced fun walk dependant on individual abilities. Lead by an accredited instructors these walks make the most of our beautiful county and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors. Enjoy a full body work out while walking through historic North Devon beside the banks of the river Torridge, along quiet lanes and wooded footpaths before returning to the Puffing Billy for well-deserved “revive me” refreshments.

These 2 walks warm up together and then take different routes according to your ability.
Referral WALX
A comfortably paced walk in the Gardens for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere. The qualified Exercise Referral Instructor will lead you through a warm up, a short walk making stops along the way if needed and finish with a stretch. Exercise bands are often used within the walk to rest the legs, improve strength in the upper body and work on posture.
We join all Wednesday walkers after the walk for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.
Total Body WALX
A gentle paced walk for 45 minutes with a WALX Guide around the lake, joining all Wednesday walkers for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.
You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.
Power of Poles training is available in Bexley.

This is a walk for those who are managing a long term health condition. The session comprises of a walking route that can be inland, or along the coast at Goring. There will be rest stops, and the pace regulated to accommodate all those attending on the day. Also there will be exercises and activities to target flexibility, strength and balance. Come and join our WALX classes. To get the most from using poles in our WALX sessions, the Power of Poles is an excellent starting point.
We are excited to welcome newcomers to the use of poles to exercise the whole body while walking. Using poles will engage your core, improve posture and take the weight off lower body joints. It enables you to exercise outdoors which is great for your mental health as well.

The POWER of POLES Induction is totally unique in that it explores the use of both strapless and Nordic walking poles to aid the user gain the best technique and results! Taught over 2 sessions of 1.5 hours duration, the second being optional, the session starts with the strapless moulded handle fitness walking poles devised by WALX and FIZAN
This enables you to feel greater core engagement and master the elements that provide propulsion, increased exercise benefits and make you feel lighter on our feet. Once you have mastered these essential basics you get to explore the traditional Nordic walking straps and movements. The second session of the Power of Poles is optional and will be listed separately at a convenient date for you.
