Walk Description:

During this 45 minute session you get to feel the benefits from using the poles for walking. Using up to 90% of the body muscle, it targets those difficult to tone areas. Walking with poles is fun, social, fantastic and it will change the way you exercise.

Poles are provided for the session.  

Please have suitable footwear on and a rucksack is advised for your belongings.

 

 There is a charge for Danson Park car park after 10.00am.

Walk Description:

A comfortably paced Total Body WALX for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine, we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - a mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session.

Walk Description:

This event welcomes both walkers and runners.

The Cuckoo trail is flat, being a disused railway track primarily consisting of tarmac and firm ground. A 5k distance is equivalent to 3 miles.

Our usual 90-minute walks cover over 3 miles.

The 10k distance, being double that of the 5k, should be achievable for most with preparation time available until the end of May.

Here are the details… Starting at the School Lane, Polegate entrance to the Cuckoo Trail, we have various distances on offer including a mini mile for families and little ones, 5k and10k.

It will bring you confidence to walk with poles. You will leave this session feeling excited about getting going.

Ideal once you have tasted the experience you will want  to continue your journey.

You will throughout your participation in sessions receive excellent instruction  and motivation to keep you engaged.

You will be supported as often and to the level you wish. We are a social group and have so much fun keeping active and getting fitter.

Come, spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning exploring interesting circular walks, up hill and down dale, in the Chilterns and South Bucks areas. With a wide variety of venues and terrain to chose from you are sure to discover a few favourites. The walk will change each week, and where practical will finish somewhere with refreshments and facilities.

Enjoy sociable Nordic Walking with your fellow experienced  Freedom Passport holders in a variety of locations with a mixed ability group.

Beginners Nordic Walking Courses. (Power of Poles Intro)   The next dates after this one are 10th and 28th June These are a great way to get started with Nordic walking, whether for health, fitness or simply exercising effectively outside.Walking with poles is less stressful on the joints, it makes you walk faster with very little extra effort, it works your upper body as well as the legs.The result being more effective calorie burning, stronger core and toning of the upper body.The initial session is 90 minute session, you'll learn the basics of Nordic walking, gaining the skills to get the most from your own walking as well as being able to join national Nordic Walking UK and WALX classes.Once the first session is completed, two regular walks or one longer walk are included with IRBO, and everything we did in the first session will come together. (Must be taken within four weeks of the course.)Locally, you'll be able to book into any of our I'd Rather Be Outdoors Nordic Walks and you can join walks & classes, every week all around the UK.  Poles are provided for the course.
