Walk Description:

Wow!  This 6 mile (8km) walk weaves its way from Morston Quay up to Langham Airfield along the Norfolk Coast Path National Trail, through woodland adjacent to a babbling river to the village of Cockthorpe. Standing on a ridge of high land, Cockthorpe offers stunning views all around.

This famous airfield was built during the Second World War and was a base for planes including Beaufighters, Hurricanes, Mosquitoes and Wellingtons.

Looking down towards the coast Blakeney Point can be seen. This shingle ridge or 'spit' is 4.5 miles long and is built up by the action of the sea.

TBH the most incredible views of our gorgeous coastline!!!

Walk Description:

Leaving the Kingston Mauward estate we walk though fields to a small lane which we cross to another field and on to Thorncombe. Here we take the path past Thomas Hardy's cottage and on into the woods. Making our way to a stile on the other side and back into farm land.

We have a choice here to take the small lane to the Rusty duck cafe with excellent coffee and cake just a few yards further down the lane, my choice ,  or cross over and head back to Kingston Mauward Animal park where there is a cafe. 

The route whichever choice  takes us back along the river and back int the estate. 

Meet at Kingston Mauward Animal park. The parking here is free .

This is a lovely walk  through countryside and woodland , crossing a couple of small lanes.

From there we drop down to Cilcain village, before following the historic Leete trail back to the start.
