An attractive mixed terrain, but largely off-road walk around Mount Flirt. Super views all round. The route also takes in the largest Alpaca farm in the area.
Nordic Walx are simply sociable Nordic walks in a mixed ability group, enjoying beautiful locations in and around South Shropshire and beyond. Most routes are circular and will try to make the most of the beautiful surroundings.

Join us for a fabulous walk starting from the West Wittering Memorial Hall. This walk can be led in a variety of ways, depending on the ground and weather conditions, but all routes will eventually lead you to the glorious West Wittering Sandy Beach.

These gentle walks are suitable for people who would like to start Nordic Walking to get fit but have no/ little walking experience, have had an injury or an knee/ hip operation.
We often walk on the Tissington Trail as this is fairly level and even. But we will also incorporate fields and hills in our walks which are 2-3 miles.

A more gentle walk for those with a recent medical condition that means that mobility is limited, and who feel their fitness levels have declined as a result. The challenge is still to manage an hour walk, with rests when needed. Regularly weekly walks can bring improvements.
Start of the walk is at the same time of the other group. Warming up exercises are together and we meet again in the car park for a hot drink.

A lovely walk that takes us along the meadow stream behind Stinsford village. We will walk past the church yard which holds that heart of Thomas Hardy and his parents. We will then stop at Kingston Maurward cafe for a drink. Then back through the meadows up to the car park.
There are a few hills but ones that are easy to take at your own time, plus two stiles to go over and a few gates to go through.
Thorncombe Car Park cost £1 per hour. There will be toilets here and at Kingston Maurward.

John is launching a progressive fitness programme designed for anyone looking to gradually build their fitness and stamina. Whether you're starting from scratch or seeking a structured way to regain strength, this programme is tailored to support your journey.
About the Programme
John brings first-hand experience to this initiative, having rebuilt his fitness after an illness and is now recovering from surgery. His inspiring journey motivates him to help others achieve their goals at their own pace.
The programme starts in February with a gentle 2.6-mile walk at a 2.5 mph pace and progresses to a challenging 12.8-mile walk at 3.5mph in December.
What to Expect
Each month will feature a variety of walks to keep things interesting and adaptable to different fitness levels:

Participants can join and stop at any stage to match their own ability or ambition.

10.30AM START. Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the `Thursday Thunderer Workout Walk` is a 1 hour moderate to faster pace Workout Walk starting from different locations in the Salford area. These energising sessions will help you rebuild your stamina and fitness levels, push that pace without compromising on technique plus work on strength and core fitness. For those who have completed a Power of the Poles or Learn to Nordic walk course and have their Freedom code. Incorporates motivating drills and exercises using Gears 1, 2 and .... maybe some Gear 3. Will also incorporates some technique work to help you get the most out of your Nordic Walking.

Meeting point - Dukes Drive Car Park, Monton, M30 8AP Meet in the car park at Dukes Drive. Dukes Drive car park is at the top of Parrin Lane. Turn left into the car park as you come up Parrin Lane (B5299) from Worsley Road (B5211). The car park entrance is as you go over the canal bridge and before you reach the roundabout. Dukes Drive is easily accessible along Worsley Road and then up Parrin Lane from both Junctions 11 and 13 of the M60. No toilet facilities.
