These 2 walks warm up together and then take different routes according to your ability.

Referral WALX

A comfortably paced walk in the Gardens for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere. The qualified Exercise Referral Instructor will lead you through a warm up, a short walk making stops along the way if needed and finish with a stretch. Exercise bands are often used within the walk to rest the legs, improve strength in the upper body and work on posture.

We join all Wednesday walkers after the walk for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.

Total Body WALX

A gentle paced walk for 45 minutes with a WALX Guide around the lake, joining all Wednesday walkers for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.

You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.  

Power of Poles training is available in Bexley.

Every spring the floor of our ancient woodlands is transformed into a mass of fragrant bluebells. This spectacular carpet of vibrant blue captures the very essence of British woodland.Bluebells are the bounty of spring and today we head out to capture their beauty.

This session is for walkers with a Neurological condition, and especially suitable for those with Parkinson’s disease, who may need a slower paced walk but who can still manage an hour, with a couple of short rests factored in. The aim of the walk is to maintain current fitness levels or to try and improve mobility by walking each week. The session also involves exercises to work on flexibility, strength, posture and balance, and so improve management of the condition.

The walk will cover different routes each week on the Greensward, or inland along the wooded paths.

We walk with poles or without, please feel free to use your own poles if you have any

Walk Description:

 We are excited to welcome newcomers to the use of poles to exercise the whole body while walking. Using poles will engage your core, improve posture and  take the weight off lower body joints. It enables you to exercise outdoors  which is great for your mental health as well.

Find out how to use fitness walking poles to achieve the results YOU want. This course will help you select the right kind of poles and use them for health, fitness, fun or challenges. Poles are provided. If this Wednesday does not suit ,please contact me on 07803 037 332 

The POWER of POLES Induction is totally unique in that it explores the use of both strapless and Nordic walking poles to aid the user gain the best technique and results! Taught over 2 sessions of 1.5 hours duration, the second being optional, the course starts with the strapless moulded handle fitness walking poles devised by WALX and FIZAN

This enables you to gain greater core engagement and master the upper elements that provide propulsion, support and increased exercise benefits. Once you have mastered these essential basics you get to explore the traditional Nordic walking straps and movements.  The second session of the Power of Poles is optional and  will be listed separately  at a convenient date for you.

Walk Description:

Our new Yoga WALX are gentle, mindful walks incorporating Nordic Walking and standing Hatha Yoga asanas (poses).  These sessions help improve balance, flexibility and strength alongside mindfulness and relaxation too.

All sessions are suitable for complete beginners to yoga as well as more experienced yogis.

Sessions are held at the beautiful woodland of Evanton Community Wood which provides a fantastic way of connecting with nature.

Yoga WALX can be a great way for those getting back into exercise, have a health condition or simply want to move well and be fit for life!
