A longer walk in a beautiful place!  What a tonic...

Stunning scenery, historical connections, gorgeous architecture, well manicured gardens, a sense of timelessness… and wide shady paths all across the estate to enjoy mood-boosting  Nordic Walking.  Plus a well deserved coffee at the end in the Muddy Boots Cafe - what could be better?

This walk is designed to accommodate ALL ABILITIES

For those of you who have completed the Learn to Nordic Walk course- these action packed walks are designed to help you improve your fitness levels and gain FAST results.

Alternatively depending on individual abilities enjoy sociable gentle Nordic Walking in stunning locations with a mixed ability group.

Your qualified instructor will add motivating drills and exercises into a steady/fast paced fun walk. Lead by an accredited instructor these walks make the most of our beautiful coastal countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors in sociable company.

Enjoy a full body work out while walking beside/across the oldest golf course in England, along the famous Westward Ho! Beach and through the Northam burrows. We will even stop along the way at the Pebble ridge visitors centre for some light refreshments.

Our Wednesday Explorer WALXs are a chance to join a longer walk. These walks usually take around 3 hours covering 6-8 miles depending on the terrain. They are aimed at walkers who are comfortable with walking at a moderate pace for the time. We will take a few breaks so bring a hot drink and a snack.

Today we are starting at Hackpen Hill and then walking down towards Temple Bottom. We follow road down towards Rockley and then come back via Ridgeway. Walk is around 7 miles.

These 2 walks warm up together and then take different routes according to your ability.

Referral WALX

A comfortably paced walk in the Gardens for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere. The qualified Exercise Referral Instructor will lead you through a warm up, a short walk making stops along the way if needed and finish with a stretch. Exercise bands are often used within the walk to rest the legs, improve strength in the upper body and work on posture.

We join all Wednesday walkers after the walk for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.

Total Body WALX

A gentle paced walk for 45 minutes with a WALX Guide around the lake, joining all Wednesday walkers for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.

You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.  

Power of Poles training is available in Bexley.

Come and join our WALX classes. To get the most from using poles in our WALX sessions, the Power of Poles is an excellent starting point.

We are excited to welcome newcomers to the use of poles to exercise the whole body while walking. Using poles will engage your core, improve posture and  take the weight off lower body joints. It enables you to exercise outdoors  which is great for your mental health as well.

Find out how to use fitness walking poles to achieve the results YOU want. This session will help you select the right kind of poles and use them for health, fitness, fun or challenges. Poles are provided. If this Sunday does not suit, please contact me on 07803 037 332 

The POWER of POLES Induction is totally unique in that it explores the use of both strapless and Nordic walking poles to aid the user gain the best technique and results! Taught over 2 sessions of 1.5 hours duration, the second being optional, the session starts with the strapless moulded handle fitness walking poles devised by WALX and FIZAN

This enables you to feel  greater core engagement and master the  elements that provide propulsion,   increased exercise benefits and make you feel lighter on our feet. Once you have mastered these essential basics you get to explore the traditional Nordic walking straps and movements.  The second session of the Power of Poles is optional and  will be listed separately  at a convenient date for you.

A gentle safe way to walk yourself fitter. Join our Wellbeing WALX Guides on a sociable, fun and enjoyable walk. We use strapped Nordic or Total Body Walking Poles, or you can walk without if you prefer. If you have your own poles then bring them along with you.
