This is a friendly and popular Nordic walking Group for those who have completed a Power of Poles induction course. We explore the forest trails in Delamere Forest and cover 2-3 miles. It is a sociable walk at a slower pace than the Monday walk but faster than a wellness walk. This allows us time to chat , take in our surroundings and discuss flora, fauna and historical snippets.

Join Carolyne for an adventure walk starting from Bankes Arms- South Beach NT car park in Studland.
A varied route through the village then 2 hills through woodlands with spectacular views. We go onto the heath and walk around the Agglestone looking at it from every angle. Good wide gravel tracks with some uneven ground.
There will be a pit stop so please bring a drink and snacks
The roads may be busy. Please allow plenty of time to get to the start and make sure mobile phones are switched ON in case of last minute communications.

This is a friendly mixed ability group open to all with or without poles. Many members prefer to walk with poles as they find it is more effective than ordinary walking .When poles are used we are able to engage the upper body, core muscles, improve posture burn more calories and they can help if you have balace issues. This is a mixed ability walk and we split into 2 or 3 groups so all can walk at apace which is beneficial for the individual

Our Wednesday Explorer WALXs are a chance to join a longer walk. These walks usually take around 3 hours covering 6-8 miles depending on the terrain. They are aimed at walkers who are comfortable with walking at a moderate pace for the time. We will take a few breaks so bring a hot drink and a snack.
Today we are starting at Hackpen Hill and then walking down towards Temple Bottom. We follow road down towards Rockley and then come back via Ridgeway. Walk is around 7 miles.

These 2 walks warm up together and then take different routes according to your ability.
Referral WALX
A comfortably paced walk in the Gardens for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere. The qualified Exercise Referral Instructor will lead you through a warm up, a short walk making stops along the way if needed and finish with a stretch. Exercise bands are often used within the walk to rest the legs, improve strength in the upper body and work on posture.
We join all Wednesday walkers after the walk for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.
Total Body WALX
A gentle paced walk for 45 minutes with a WALX Guide around the lake, joining all Wednesday walkers for a cuppa in the park if the weather is dry.
You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.
