Disley Nordic Walks

Meeting at the War Memorial in Disley (in front of The Rams Head) we`ll have a warm-up before we head off exploring the magnificent countryside around the Parish of Disley. It varies from urban to rural very quickly with differing views to be had on each walk, after the walk we do some stretches too.

The walks are advertised at 90mins but they may take a little longer than that, due to terrain, weather.

Gears 1 and maybe 2 with some hills.

I need a minimum of 3 people for a walk.  Please cancel by 6pm the day before a walk.  If you need to cancel after this time or on the day of the walk, I would ask that you just let me know that you cannot attend and the walk will remain chargeable. This week the terrific Tuesday series of Explorer WALX location is Mapleton, a charming and secluded brick-built village in the Dove valley with attractive views located just outside of Ashbourne.

Mappleton offers the serenity of unchanging scenery and peace. A one arch bridge spans the river dove to carry the road to Okeover Hall, an early 18th century Hall.

This walk is designed to help to keep you improving and get noticeable results whilst offers a very sociable time, mainly on footpaths through fields, hills and views.

Starting from The Bridge House Hotel we will be able to access Longham Lakes.

It is part of the Lakes trust which has lakes around the South of England. 

The length of the walk is about 3 miles.

Afterwards we can warm up with a coffee at the hotel where I will book a table for us.

Walk Description:

Come and learn how to turn walking into a total body exercise with poles. Get more from walking in your own time or join our regular fitness walking classes.

In line with Government guidance and our own updated risk assessment protocols, we can now offer the beginners` Power of Poles workshop for up to 5 participants at a time. For details on the measures we`ve put in place to keep you safe, click on More Information.

At the end of this session, you will have a full understanding of using poles correctly and a level where you will be issued with the NWUK Freedom Passport, allowing you to join thousands of walks & classes, every week all around the UK

Join Lucie at Wareham Forest for a gentle and relaxing session of Yoga with Poles.No experience necessary and all postures are carried out standing. 

Great for improving your range of movement, strength and flexibility and improving your sense of wellness. At the end of the session we practise some mindfulness and breathing techniques which has been shown to help lift mood and reduce anxiety.
